Timothy Goist Leads Team that Serves Syrian Refugees in Lebanon
This past October Tim Goist made his fourth trip to Lebanon and led a team that served orphans and Syrian refugee children. Many of these children escaped the war in neighboring Syria and witnessed horrible tragedies. The goal of the team was to help restore some of their lost innocence and let them be kids again, even if for a brief time, so that they could once again laugh, play, feel safe, and just be kids. This was accomplished through day camps where the days were filled with songs, skits, sports and games, arts and crafts, plenty of food, and an encouraging devotional. At the end of the day, the children left the camp with full bellies, arms full of their arts and craft projects, and smiles on their faces. The team asked for nothing in return, only the opportunity to show love and provide comfort following the biblical example of love – Love your neighbor as yourself.
